Sebastopol Auto Repair

I live in town. And I like to support local businesses. I believe they do good work and they are honest. However, they are not cheap. I had them replaced my front brake pads and rotors. Which cost me approximately $850. Subsequent to that I had Honda repair and replaced my brake pads and rotors and they came in at $650. How can that be that a local mechanic charges more than the dealer? I would like to continue doing business with golden gear, but something they should be aware of for sure. Again, they do good work, but dont necessarily expect your car to come back the same day. Most of the times it has to stay overnight.

High pricing but very well done diagnostics of a more complex issue with a lot of error codes pertaining to the engine. Very good communication with the mechanic when asking for walkthrough on what was tested and not. I did end up doing the repair myself though and discovered that all the things proposed/recommended as remedies were not needed (vehicle works perfectly after changing the 2 sensors recommended, no PCM module needed to be installed although that was a rather pricey job they were trying to sell in as needed as well).

I’ve had good experience here in the past but it feels like prices are too high now. I had two door handle mechanisms replaced on my old tacoma truck and it was $1,441. I am going to likely go somewhere else for future service.

Great service...My truck needed repair when I was in the area on a camping trip and they were able to see it and fix it the next day. Thanks to all the staff for the prompt and excellent service.

Once again Golden Gear rescued me. My car was seriously overdue for maintenance and all that needed attention were successfully repaired. Thanks to the professionals.

They were friendly, great communication, very clear and detailed work done and work needed explained in writing. Very helpful in determining a priority for all the work needed. They were fast and efficient and kept me informed. I plan to continue services on my Lexus with them.

Was especially pleased they noted battery acid leak when the Mazda service I just had failed to mention. Good job!!

The work seems good but overpriced. I came in for break and lamp check and found out I needed brakes. Break and lamp check was over $400! I blame this partly on the state but really, $450?Brakes/pads for around $700. I'm sure the work is good, I will give it that. But my regular mechanic who is excellent would of charged about 450 to 500 dollars. I had no choice because if I were to take it to my mechanic I would have to come back and pay again for half of another brake and lounge check.

Awesome lady up on the front desk, had a question and answered everything I needed to know! Very good customer service, even tho I’m out of state I recommend these guys!
