They were timely. informative, and on schedule. Amber was most helpful. I needed a smog test and they did it when and as promised.

Though Alex was not able to solve the problem with my old 1980 Chevy pickup truck, he was very fair in his costs and was able to direct me to another repair shop that might be able to solve my complex problem. I would heartily recommend Golden Gear for any auto repairs.

Nice friendly service

Pretty standard auto shop.It has typical wait times compared to dealership and other shops near by. It took about 3 hours for an oil change. They didn't have the air filter for my car so they ordered one. Brought it back and took about 2 hours to replace. They don't have a waiting room but fortunately Sebastopol has enough places around to walk to while you wait. Prices were also competitive.

Great service. Alex is very knowledgeable and I trust him completely with my 19 year old Subaru. He keeps it running great and makes small repairs before they become big issues. Very grateful to have such a careful mechanic within walking distance of my home, too!

Amazing service

Excellent service. Especially because they had installed a water pump from a supplier and discovered something wrong with it while test-driving, then took it apart and put in a replacement. In other words, really sharp quality control and taking the responsibility to redo the job.
