I had 1500 worth of repairs here that are supposed to be under a 2 year warranty it's been 7 months and 2 different mechanics have told me that the valve cover wasn't done correctly. I took it back to Alex who of course denied it. I'm so disappointed that he didn't even try to help me. I am now lost on what I can do except warn other people not to go here.

These guys were great - no fuss, no hassle. I needed a smog check and they were able to get me in and completed the test promptly and were very friendly. I also noticed their garage was really busy, which to me is a good sign of a successful business - I will definitely go to them again. Also right across the parking lot is a good Mexican restaurant , so if you time it right, you can get your work done on your car and have a nice meal .

I've been to Golden Gear twice in the past year for different services. Both times I noticed Alex's communication skills - he listened carefully and responded thoroughly. I got the feeling he cared about making a good relationship with me as a customer. At my most recent visit I asked him to make note of the maintenance that was needed for my car; he helped me prioritize the work so that it could fit in my budget. I'm very satisfied with the timelines and cost of the repairs so far. I recommend Golden Gear if you're looking for a fair, honest, and competant mechanic.

What a hidden little gem. I needed a smog check, of course right away because I had procrastinated... I call at 4pm on a Thursday, and they had me scheduled for the next day. I asked if the could also check my oil level and tire pressure. Done & done. I will be back for my next service and for replacing my rear breaks, as they need to be done before summer.
